Hodge Podge.

Filed under: Strip — stick @ 1:22 am

Well, the good news is… no new strip this week!

Wait, what?

Heh, well, yeah… see, June was a real bitch at work, and, even though I had three weeks lead time built into this story at one point… it go bye-bye.

BUT!

I’ve been working on some various other odds and ends that I’m happy to share while I work on the first page of “Making Time”, part 7.

First, some sketches by my buddy Bryan Boles — with whom I collaborated on “Hunters” and “The Pond” (published here over the past few months… you remember, the GOOD art?) — and with whom I am collaborating at present on a super-top-secret (but not really) long-form online project. We’ve already got the first chapter finished, but we want to get a bunch in the can before we unleash it upon an unsuspecting (read: indifferent) populace… but, in the meantime, here’s some of Bryan’s preliminary character sketches (all subject to change on the whims of the artist… you know the type).

And, in case you were just DYING for a new page from me (surely there’s at least one of you… please?), here’s a page I drew from the script of one Joey Aulisio as part of a larger project in which each page of a comic story is written and drawn by a different person. (I wrote a different page, but that ain’t been sketched yit.) Enjoy!

  1. Those character designs are awesome. I mean, obviously you can’t miss with cyborg dogs (what a missed opportunity THAT’s been all these years) and the others are equally cool. One question: is Ganan’s (neat font, btw) bellybutton an eye on a hand that covers his stomach?

  2. Neat! I’m looking forward to the long story collaboration.

  3. Jason: I ain’t fer sure about Ganan’s body art. All I mentioned to Bryan was that he’s covered in Aboriginal markings and tattoos, and that’s what he came up with. I like the design quite a bit, although it’s already been slightly tweaked.

Sara: You so mean to poor Kayla, what’d she ever do to you? ;)
