It’s hard to say any one person or family inspired Stick or Jane… Jane in particular flip-flops back and forth between my mother and my wife, just the same way that Stick flip-flops between my father and myself (with a healthy dose of exaggeration all around, of course). There are others influences in there as well — I know a lot of grouchy people — but that’s where the voices come from generally.
